What should you know about Macy’s Returns Policy?

Have you ever shopped at a store and walked out feeling happy with what you bought, only to come home and realize that the dress you bought isn’t a great fit for you or your family doesn’t like the color of the bedspreads? Well, you don’t have to worry, not when you buy from a retailer that has a flexible return policy or when the credit card you used to make the purchase has you covered.

Macy’s is one of the big retailers who offer a wide range of products such as jewelry, branded clothes, cosmetics, and kitchen accessories and they accept many merchandises when you’re not happy under their return window.

What should be on your checklist before you go to make a return?

1.        Do you have the proof of purchase with you: This includes your original receipt, the credit card used to make the purchase, your return label or packing slip.

2.       Take the purchase back in an unused, undamaged and in saleable condition.

3.       Before you return an item find out if it can be returned at a store or do you have to call Macy’s customer care to arrange a pickup or do you have to send it back by mail.

Example: Style your ring purchases have to be returned by mail. You must call 1-877-423-7569 to  avail a prepaid shipping label for the item you want to return. The item must be in original packing, should include proof of purchase along with the GIA certificate and must be sent to the prepaid mailing label.

For certain returns such as a mattress, home accessories Macy’s can apply a shipping/pickup fees and a restocking fee.

What are the items that cannot be returned or exchanged?

1.       Macy’s beauty box merchandise.

2.       All bridal salon by Demetrios sales.

3.       Clearance and ‘As Is’ merchandise- Furniture and Mattress.

4.       Food and wine gifts.

5.       Alexandre London custom orders.

Macy’s has a different return window for various categories. The moment you decide you want to return a purchase you can view the return policy details to save you the additional trip and time.

Apple products bought in-store can only be returned at Macy’s stores that carry Apple products. Apple products purchased online may be returned online or in stores that carry Apple products.
Area Rugs 30 days

To return an area rug purchased online you must call 1-800-289-6229.It cannot be returned to the store. The return time for rugs bought in the store is within 7 days of purchase.
 Backstage  30 days

Items purchased from backstage must be returned to a Macy’s backstage stores
Bluemercury  180 days

Returns must be made at a Macy’s store with a Bluemercury shop
Cosmetics and Fragrances  180 days

Lush products must be returned to the Macys store that retails Lush items.
Designer Brands 14 days

Alexandre London customized orders have no return and exchange.

If you do not have proof of purchase, you may be eligible for store credit for the item’s lowest selling price within the last 180 days.
Dresses 60 days

If you do not have proof of purchase, you may be eligible for store credit for the item’s lowest selling price within the last 180 days.
Finish Line 45 days

If you do not have proof of purchase, you may be eligible for store credit for the item’s lowest selling price within the last 180 days.
Fur Vault  30 days

Items bought at the store can be returned to The Fur Vault at select Macy’s stores. Online purchases must be sent in through the mail only.
FurnitureReturns/Exchanging must be within 3 days from the date of delivery

Home Accessories 30 days

Home Accessories purchased in store can be returned. Furniture accessories, mirrors, and wall art purchased in the store cannot be returned to the store.

Jewelry, Technology Watches and Tech Accessories 60 days

Items which are sized or altered are non-eligible for return.
