ShopInbox (d/b/a/ Sift) Privacy Policy

ShopInbox, Inc. (“Us”, “We”, or “Company”) is committed to respecting the privacy rights of visitors to (The “Site”), registered users of ShopInbox’s mobile application Sift (“Sift” or the “App”), and users of ShopInbox products and features (“Service” or “Services”). We created this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) to demonstrate our commitment to fair information practices and to explain our privacy practices to You (“You”, “Your”) and other users of the Site, App and/or Services (“Users”).  ShopInbox’s Services include software that enables You and other Users to manage and centralize Your online purchase and shopping information. By using Company’s Services, You consent to Company’s use of the information You provide in connection with creating a ShopInbox account, as set forth in this Privacy Policy. The Site, App and Services are directed toward Users located in the United States.




We collect certain personal information when You register for our Services. Personal information is data that may be used to identify You and includes email addresses, telephone numbers, postal addresses as well as sensitive personal information such as credit card numbers (collectively “Personal Information”). The types of information we collect include: 

Account Setup Information – In order for You to setup an account with ShopInbox, we require You to provide Your name, Your email address, Your telephone number and we ask You to provide a User ID and password that will enable You to login to use the Services in the future. We may also ask You for Your credit or debit card number if You choose to allow Us to help you take advantage of credit card benefits or make claims on your behalf we may collect a percentage of your claim (each a “Bounty”). This information is generally considered Personal Information. 

Pseudonymous Information – We collect pseudonymous information such as mobile advertising ID’s, cookie ID’s and IP addresses via the Site, the App and the Services as well as logfile information. This information is generally used to draw useful insights and create licensed data products where we are not prohibited from creating such products (e.g. for email service providers such as Gmail we follow their requirements and do not license any data to third parties: We also may use such data to help administer the Site, the App and the Services. Pseudonymous information can’t be utilized on its own to identify a particular individual.

Social Media and Email Account Information – We may ask You to provide Your login credentials for Your social media and/or email accounts in order to enable Us to keep track of your purchases, the purchase price for your purchases and the items purchased. We also collect this information in order to assist you in filing a claim in case there is a question or issue with one or more of your purchases. We receive these login credentials via Oauth when possible; which with the exception of any email addresses, generally does not necessitate the provision of Personal Information to Us.

Card Purchase Receipt Information – Once ShopInbox has been granted access to one or more of Your email accounts, our Services are able to receive and process card purchase receipt information such as: a) items purchased, b) purchase price, date/time of purchase, c) credit or debit card interest rate at the data of purchase, and d) information pertaining to the credit or debit card loyalty program terms. 

User provided information – You and other Users may provide certain information to Us when sending Us an email or otherwise asking questions. 


We place a small text known as a “Cookie” on Your tablet or mobile phone hard drive. A cookie may contain information that allows Us to track Your path through the Site and App and to determine whether You have opened the App and/or visited the Site on prior occasions. The Cookie does not contain any personal information that would allow Us to identify You.  We use cookies to help Us understand how visitors use the Site and App and to help Us Improve them. ShopInbox may use cookies for the purpose of collecting traffic data such as IP addresses, domain services, and/or types of web browsers.  However, we do not respond to “do not track” signals from web browsers at this time. Please note that this Privacy Policy applies to Our use of cookies only and does not cover the use of cookies by third parties



We primarily use Your Personal Information to enable You to create an account with ShopInbox and enjoy the Service.  We may also use Your email information to send You information about Our Company or our products or Services, or to contact You when necessary (i.e. notices relating to the Service; service alerts; general customer care). While We reserve the right to send You email concerning Your account billing status and service alerts, You may opt out of Our general marketing and promotion emails. If and when ShopInbox offers a non-free premium account, ShopInbox will use the billing & fulfillment services of a third party to process Your credit card information to enable Your payments for premium features.  ShopInbox DOES NOT collect or store Your credit card details on its servers.  If and when You select a non-free ShopInbox account, Your selection and payment will constitute Your permission for ShopInbox to make Your credit-card information available to a payment processing company for billing and fulfillment purposes via the ShopInbox Site Or App. ShopInbox’s Services enable You to centralize and organize Your online purchase and Shopping Information. We understand that some purchases of goods or Services may be of a delicate or adult nature.  If You do not want ShopInbox to access and process emails concerning such purchases, You have the choice to either (A) Not use Our Service, or (B) Use an email address not associated with Your ShopInbox account for purchases that You wish to keep outside of the scope of our Service. We honor the policies of the companies that provide Your email account (e.g. for email service providers such as Gmail we follow their requirements of use outlined here: and those policies may limit Our ability to collect information.


We may make Your Personal Information and card purchase receipt information available to service providers for the purposes of managing, providing, and improving the Services, analyzing usage of the Services.   For example, We may share Your name and email address with service providers who assist Us by performing core services (such as hosting, billing, fulfillment, data storage and security, or account registration using social media platforms) related to Our operation of the Service and are bound by contract to use the data as directed by Us and for no other purpose. If You do not want Us to share Your Personal Information with any third parties, please delete your account. 


We may use the information We collect, including card purchase receipt information to analyze such data in order to license data to third parties where we are not prohibited from doing so (e.g. for email service providers such as Gmail we follow their requirements and do not license any data to third parties: ). We may share aggregated and anonymized insights and reports about consumer and purchase behavior to clients, partners, or others for marketing, analysis and other purposes. Such licensed products will not include Personal Information, but may include pseudonymous information such as mobile advertising device identifiers (e.g., IDFA for iOS devices) or "hashes" of email addresses. 


You may choose not to provide Us with any Personal Information. In such an event, You may still access the Site; however You will not be able to access and use the Services because, per our Terms Of Use, ShopInbox requires accurate Personal Information for the creation of an account which allows the use of Our Services. 


Personal Information will only be retained by Company for as long as necessary to provide You with Services.  When You permanently delete Your account, We retain the card purchase Information We have collected from You for thirty (30) days after you delete your account to allow for the possibility that You change Your mind and re-register for the Service.


ShopInbox implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard Personal Information in our possession against being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed. No transmission of data over the Internet, however, is guaranteed to be completely secure. It may be possible for third parties not under the control of ShopInbox to intercept or access transmissions or communications unlawfully. While we strive to protect Your data, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any data You transmit to us or that we collect about You.


We maintain a procedure in order to help You confirm that Your Personal Information remains correct and up-to-date. At any time, You may log in to Your account, accessible on the Site and App, and review Your Personal Information for accuracy and, if necessary, update Your Personal Information that We have already collected.


You must promptly notify Us if Your credit card, user name, or password is lost, stolen, or used without permission. In such an event, We will remove that credit card number, user name, or password from Your account and update Our records accordingly.


The Site and App may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites. We also make Our blog and our social media accounts available to You. Please understand that any information that is disclosed and/or shared on these platforms becomes public information. We have no control over its use and You should exercise caution when deciding to disclose Your Personal Information and any other information You consider private.


ShopInbox may be required to disclose Your information to third parties when obligated to do so by law and in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected, or actual prohibited activities, including transfer reasonably intended to meet national security or law enforcement requirements, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, including but not limited to fraud and situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person.

Finally, ShopInbox may transfer information, including any Personal Information, to a successor entity in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or other corporate change. If ShopInbox is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, You will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of Your personal information, as well as any choices You may have regarding Your personal information.


This Site and corresponding services are not intended for, or designed to attract, individuals under the age of 13. ShopInbox does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from ANY person We actually know is an individual under the age of 13, regardless of parental consent. In the event that We learn that We have collected Personal Information from a child under 13, We will delete that information as quickly as possible.


We encourage You to review this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes. If We change the ways in which We use and disclose Personal Data, We will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service following any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes Your acceptance of any such changes.
